A nutritious hot lunch will be available for all students in grades 1 through 6. Each student lunch costs $1.50. Checks should be made out to Alpine School District Lunch. Students are to take these checks directly to the lunchroom as they arrive to school in the morning where it will be credited to their account. Accounts with a positive balance at the end of the year will be carried over to the next year. Transferring students may receive a refund upon request. Extra milk will be $.25. If you are on a reduced price structure you may pay $8.00 ($.40 per day) for 20 lunches. Reduced lunches must be purchased in 20-day increments and not on a daily basis. Adult lunches are $2.50 per day. Should you wish to apply for free or reduced price lunches please complete the form sent earlier from the District. This completed form will need to be returned directly to Food Services at the District Office. Please note that the schools do not approve the applications. This must be done at the District office. Students who were on free or reduced lunch last year will need to reapply but a ten day grace period will be in effect for the beginning of the school year.

Students and parents will be notified when there are only two lunches remaining in their account with a smiley-face stamp on the student's hand. Two stamps indicate the student's lunch account is depleted. Please remember that it is the parent's responsibility to provide lunch money for their child. Neither the teachers not the lunchroom personnel have resources to provide for those needing lunch money. Students will be allowed to charge one day only. After that not school lunch will be given. Students in this situation will be allowed to call home.

Breakfast is also offered at Legacy School each morning prior to school. The cost is $.85 per day or $.30 for reduced breakfast. Extra milk is $.25. Adult breakfasts are $1.50 per day. All students will be assigned a lunch account number. Lunch accounts and credits are carried forward from one year to another including from one Alpine District school to another. Lunch credits may be purchased in the lunchroom before school each day.

Alpine School District makes the payment of school meals easier Alpine School District is offering patrons the opportunity to have their student's monthly lunch and/or breakfast money automatically transferred from their checking or savings account into the student?s school
cafeteria account. The program is free to parents with no charge by either the financial institution or the school district. Once a patron has signed up for the automatic payment program, a monthly transfer is made. As long as the authorized financial account is open, patrons do not need to worry about their students having lunch money, or even losing the check on the way to school. At the end of the school year, any meal account with a surplus of $30.00 or more, will be transferred back into the patron's financial account. Any meal account with less than $30.00 will be carried over into the student's school cafeteria account for the following school year. To sign up for this service, look on the Alpine School District website, located at alpine.k12.ut.us/lunch/forms or you may call the Food Service Department at 796-3104.

Alpine School District is looking at various ways to keep the costs of meals at a reasonable amount. For the Food Service program to maintain efficiency and post payments to student accounts in a timely manner, we would suggest to those patrons not wishing to sign up for the automatic payment program, please mail or bring, one check for all of their students to: Alpine School District Food Service Department located at 490 North State Street, Lindon, UT 84042. Please include the name of each student, along with the school they will attend, with your check.

The Food Service Department is open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Checks or cash payments will still be accepted at the school, however, we would appreciate your support in mailing or bringing your payments to the Food Service Department.
